This Kintamani arabica comes from Catur Village in the highlands of Bangli, Bali, the home and life's work of I Ketut Jati, the farmer widely regarded as the pioneer behind Kintamani's rise from a low-value crop to a world-renowned specialty origin. Jati went farmer to farmer through the 2000s convincing growers to abandon the old strip-picking habit and handpick only ripe red cherry, a shift that, together with research support from Puslitkoka Jember and France's CIRAD, led to Geographical Indication certification for Kintamani Arabica coffee in 2008
